Good morning, kindergarten! Today we are going to do some more sight word practice. Remember, when we read sight words, we want to be able to read them right away, so we shouldn’t be stretching out the words. Knowing all those sight words takes lots of practice, so it’s important that you are practicing your sight word flashcards every day. Our focus words today are some, this, and with. First, watch these videos to help you practice each of these words. Remember, it’s okay to watch the videos more than once!
Now, you are going to practice reading those words. Try to shout out the word before I do. I’m also going to include the words you practiced last week and the week before, as well as some other words that you should know. Ready?
How did you do? Remember, if you missed any, you can always watch the video again and keep practicing until you recognize all the words. If you’re ready to move on, for today’s activity, I want you to go on a sight word scavenger hunt and make a list of the words you find. You can, of course, search for sight words in your books, but try to find them in some other creative places, too. Look on labels or on boxes, maybe look in a magazine or in the directions for a game. Try to find at least ten different sight words throughout your house. When you’re done, practice your sight word flashcards and check out the videos below for more practice.
