Assignments for today:
- Practice your sight word flashcards
- 15 minutes of IXL or Khan academy math
- 15 minutes of Raz Kids or other reading
Good Morning Kindergarten! Today I want to focus on a couple
of tricky sight words that we should be practicing as much as possible to make
us better readers. As a quick reminder to our parents, when we practice sight
words, we do not sound out the word saying each letter sound. Instead we should
be able to shout it out in less than 5 seconds. If we don’t know what it is, it
is better to just tell us instead of asking us to figure it out.
Our focus words today are said, are, and here. First
watch these videos to help you practice the sight words.
Now let’s see if you remember those words. Watch this video
and shout out the sight words as I write them. I’m going to mix in a few others
that you should know too.
For today’s activity, I would like you to practice writing
the sight words 3 times on a piece of paper and reading them back to a parent
or sibling. If this is too easy because you already know these words, I would like
you to write me sentences with each word in it. For example, “There are 3
ducks in the pond”
Here are some other sight word practice videos to help you remember
more words.
