Comparing measurements 5/7/20

Remember on Monday how we measured using LEGO minifigs and crayons.  Today we are going to choose one measuring tool and compare the length of some toys.

So my LEGO A-wing is 10 pennies long.  My LEGO Snowspeeder is 8 pennies long.  The A-wing is longer than the Snowspeeder.  The Snowspeeder is shorter than the A-Wing.

Here are Jessie and Woody from Toy Story.  Which one is longer?  I am going to use LEGO to measure.  All my Legos are the same size.  

Jessie is 5 Legos long. 

Woody is 6 Legos long.  

Woody is longer than Jessie. 

Assignment: Compare the length of 2 toys using a nonstandard measure (pennies, paper clips, lego etc.)  Draw a picture of your work.  Write the length of each.  Write which one was longer.  Send a picture to your teacher on Remind.
