Addition number stories 5-12-20

Good Morning Kindergarten,
We are going to work on some math today.  We are going to write some addition number stories.  Remember that add, plus, and +, mean we are putting numbers together to get a bigger number.
This, = , is called the equals sign.  Here are two addition number stories.

I had 5 monster trucks.  I got 3 more monster trucks.  How many do I have in all?  8.

Matthew made 4 cakes.

Nate made 3 cakes.

How many cakes in all? 7

4 + 3 = 7
